The 60th Annual Meeting Of The Members Of Niobrara Valley E.M.C.
Held March 3, 2008
The Sixtieth Annual Meeting of the Niobrara Valley Electric Membership Corporation was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in O'Neill, Nebraska on March 3, 2008. Present at the meeting were 133 members, 34 members represented by proxy and 34 guests. Special guests were introduced and the officers gave their reports.
General Manager, John Hoke gave the yearly report on the Cooperative.
The motion from the floor during last year's annual meeting to remove the term limitation for directors was explained by Mr. Forrest Peetz. A motion was then made and seconded to change the by-laws in accordance with last year's motion from the floor. Mr. Peetz then opened the floor for discussion on the issue. Several members addressed the meeting and expressed both the pros and cons of the proposed change. At the conclusion of the member comments, voting proceeded. The results of the by-law amendment change were as follows:
For: 66 Against: 111 Three director terms were up for election. The results of the director election were reported to the meeting as follows:

District #8 - Amelia Area Dave Nichols - 99 Doug Frahm - 68
District #11 - Niobrara Area Barry DeKay - 113 Brian Swanson - 53
