The 64th Annual Meeting Of The Members Of Niobrara Valley E.M.C.
Held March 5, 2012
The Sixty-Fourth Annual Meeting of the Niobrara Valley Electric Membership Corporation was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in O'Neill, Nebraska on March 5, 2012. Present at the meeting were 109 members, 17 members represented by proxy and 38 guests.
Directors, retired directors and employees, and special guests were introduced. The board officers gave their reports.
President DeKay then presented a plaque to Mr. Brad Purviance for 12 years of service, with 6 of those years as Vice President, and to Mr. Jerry Homolka for 12 years of service to the Board of Directors. Both directors are leaving the board due to their terms expiring. President DeKay thanked Mr. Purviance and Mr. Homolka for their dedicated service to the cooperative.
General Manager, John Hoke gave the yearly report on the Cooperative.
There was no old business brought before the meeting.
There was no new business brought before the meeting.
15 Door Prize were awarded to the following members present at the meeting.
Michael Laible , Sam Derickson, Ramona Hespe, Max Kunz, Dorothy Thomson, Arlen Hendricks, Jim Torpy, Rose Colfack, Robert Burge, Betty Albrecht, Larry Strubel, Viola Heiser, Dave Batenhorst, Virginia Ahlers, and John Schultz
The winner of the $200 Free Electricity Grand Prize: Betty Albrecht
The member drawn for the Attendance Prize of $300 Free Electricity: Harry & Helen Stewart
The Stewart's were not present at the meeting, so next year's Attendance Prize will be worth $400
Five director terms were up for election. The results of the director election were reported to the meeting as follows:

District #3 - Butte Area Jerry VanHouten - 96 Ronald Atkinson - 36
District #5 - Lynch Area Casey Heiser - 75 Aaron Holz - 51
District #6 - Chambers Area Jerry Childers - 74 Sammy Young - 54
District #9 - Atkinson Area Thomas Krysl - 105 Michael Laible - 28
At the conclusion of the report of the director election, the meeting was adjourned at 2:35 P.M
