The 68th Annual Meeting Of The Members Of Niobrara Valley E.M.C. Held March 7, 2016
The Sixty-Eighth Annual Meeting of the Niobrara Valley Electric Membership Corporation was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in O'Neill, Nebraska on March 7, 2016. Present at the meeting were 121 members, 14 members represented by proxy and 25 guests.
Directors, retired directors and employees, and special guests were introduced. The board officers gave their reports.
General Manager, John Hoke gave the yearly report on the Cooperative.
There was no old business brought before the meeting.
New business included addressing the current voting process for electing board members. Mr. Jim Ramm would like to see everyone who has a meter be able to vote and not just those present at the annual meeting. He would like the board to be able to develop a committee to research the cost and feasibility of going to a mail-in ballot. Mr. Forrest Peetz explained that a by-law change would be required to change the voting process. A motion was made by Mr. Jim Ramm to have the board develop a committee. Mr. Neil Tompkins seconded the motion. A vote was taken of the membership present, the motion failed.

The Attendance Prize of $200 Free Electricity and was drawn from the entire membership. The member drawn was not present at the meeting: Dennis Hansen
Next year's Attendance Prize will again be worth $300.
Four director terms were up for election. The results of the director election were reported to the meeting as follows:
District #2 - Spencer Area Ernie Eilers Incumbent - 80, Tom Mimick - 43
District #4 - Lynch Area Roger Ruda Incumbent - 80, Luke Mahlendorf - 47
District #7 - O'Neill Area Mike Givens Incumbent- 89, Michael Shoemaker - 37
District #10 - Stuart Area Daniel Kohle Incumbent - 83, Ralph Olberding - 35
At the conclusion of the report of the director election, the meeting was adjourned at 2:50 P.M.
