The 72nd Annual Meeting Of The Members Of Niobrara Valley E.M.C. Held March 2, 2020
The Seventy-Second Annual Meeting of the Niobrara Valley Electric Membership Corporation was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in O'Neill, Nebraska on March 2, 2020. Present at the meeting were 92 members, 6 members represented by proxy and 23 guests.
Directors, retired directors and employees, and special guests were introduced.
The board officers gave their reports.
General Manager, John Hoke gave the yearly report on the Cooperative.
Mr. Givens then asked for any old business. A member asked what the status was of redistricting that was discussed at last year's meeting. Mr. Givens reported that no action had been taken but the topic will be discussed further at future board meetings. Discussion then followed on memberships and the eligibility requirements to run for the board of directors and term limitations.
There was no new business brought before the meeting.
15 Door Prizes were awarded to the following members present at the meeting.
Dick Mlnarik, Lynn Henderson, Dale Reber, Dorothy Dennis, Larry Ackles, Arlin Hendricks, Dale Theye, Claudeen Penry, Carroll Marcellus, Tom Krysl, Terry Havranek, Jerry Ferguson, Arnold Buller, John Schultz and Keith Mayer
The winner of the $200 Free Electricity Grand Prize: David Pongratz
The Attendance Prize of $200 Free Electricity was drawn from the entire membership. The member drawn was Mitchell Butterfield
Mitchell was not present so next year's Attendance Prize will be worth $300.
Two director terms were up for election. The results of the director election were reported to the meeting as follows:
District #8 - Ameilia Area Kelly Cameron Incumbent - 77, Dennis Murphy - 21
District #11 - Verdel Area Perry DeKay Incumbent - 84, Brad Mahon - 14
At the conclusion of the report of the director election, the meeting was adjourned at 2:43 P.M.
